The world's hopes for you are the same as those for anyother country
The inspection teams are doing their work, seeking toverify the correctness and completeness of that declaration, and to ensure that any remaining weapons of mass destructionare destroyed. It is essential, if Iraq is to be put backon the path to peace and prosperity, that this work ofdisarmament be done Rosetta Stone V3 thoroughly and completely. You cannothope to see the sanctions lifted so long as your governmentretains weapons of mass destruction. I would be deceivingyou if I were to suggest otherwise.Meanwhile, the UnitedNations oil-for-food programme continues to give you thehelp you need, so long as economic sanctions are in force. But we all hope to see you delivered from that need freedfrom sanctions, from the threat of war, and from oppression. The world's hopes for you are the same as those for anyother country. Everyone wants to see you enjoy the rightsand opportunities of our age free to speak your minds, raise your children and pursue your dreams. I am notforgetting the many other parts of the world where peace andsecurity are threatened. From Kashmir to Colombia, fromNepal to Somalia, there are all too many volatile situationsthat the United Nations follows anxiously, because peopleare suffering, and because hostilities could escalate at anytime. But even if they were all to be resolved, we wouldonly be clearing the decks for the long-term work at hand x2013,the struggle against poverty and its attendant ills, disease, illiteracy and pollution, the struggle fordemocracy and human rights, the struggle for development, inall its forms. In this struggle, yesterday's adversariesmust become today's allies. We need to shift our mentalgeography, and understand that today, more than ever before, the global interest is the national interest. We don'tneed a weatherman to know which way the wind blows, or whichway our world is headed in the new century. The informationexists. Indeed, the World Service has already reported onit. We Rosetta Stone Latin America Spanish know, for instance, that even the most modestscenarios of population growth will mean a dramatic increasein demand for social services, and demands on our naturalenvironment especially in the cities of the developingworld, where most of that growth is expected. And we knowthat, even if we meet agreed goals for reducing greenhousegas emissions, global warming will bring extreme weather andother havoc in our lifetime. But the script is not yetfinalised. There is still time to bequeath to our children aworld of choices, not constraints. I believe we now havean agenda for the new century, in which all people canrecognise their needs and aspirations. That agenda is theMillennium Declaration, on which all the world's leadersagreed, two years ago, when they assembled at the UnitedNations for the Millennium Summit. It brings together allthe conclusions of the great world conferences of the pastdecade. And the most immediate and urgent part of it isthe Millennium Development Goals a set of clear targetsfor such basic tasks as reducing extreme poverty, achievinguniversal primary education, and halting the spread of AIDS,malaria and other deadly diseases. These are minimum, achievable goals, with a clear deadline: 2015 now barelytwelve years away. They are achievable by people likeyou, in every country, coming together and takingaction. This week we have celebrated Human Rights Day x2013,the day when we pledge to respect the inherent rights ofeach individual human being. But individuals do not onlyhave rights. They also have great power, when they cometogether and work for a cause. Again and again, in recentyears, we have seen Governments, corporations and other bigpowers obliged to re-think and adjust their policies underpressure from civil society movements. We have seen damsabandoned, roads diverted, neighbourhoods preserved. Wehave seen poor countries' debts cancelled or re-scheduled.We have seen a convention against landmines adopted. We have seen the Statute of the International Criminalcourt come into force. We have seen pharmaceuticalcompanies agree to lower their prices, to bring treatmentwithin the reach of people living with HIV and AIDS in poorcountries. And we have even seen some oil companies spendmoney on cleaning up the environment, and on social servicesfor the communities surrounding their oil wells. None ofthese things would have happened, unless thousands andthousands of people, often in many different countries, hadcome together to assert their rights, and to agitate forchange. That is the kind of movement we need to achieveour Millennium Goals a movement in which you, the peoplesof the world, become Rosetta Stone Arabic fully and passionately engaged. Andthe most important thing we at the United Nations cancontribute is to keep you informed. We need to tell youwhat your leaders have promised in your name, and what musthappen, in every government and every society, if thosepromises are to be kept so that you can keep your ownscorecard of your country's performance.

Meditations: Breakthroughs in Human Consciousness
Meditations - From MartinLeFevre in California Breakthroughs in HumanConsciousness The line Rosetta Stone betweenproto-humans, humans, and human beings is a nebulous one,but I see three stages in our random evolutionary path to amature species. Three very different orders of consciousnesscharacterize these stages. We're somewhere in the messymiddle of the last stage, though our successful transitionis by no means assured.About seven million years ago, thehominids diverged from chimpanzees, which led to a branchingbush of bipedal primates, one circuitous line of whicheventually became Homo sap. If that seems impossibly remote, consider that the chimp genome is closer to the human genomethan it is to the gorilla's. That means that we share moregenes in common with chimps than chimps share with gorillas. If God created man in his image, then God is aprimate.Even before proto-humans walked onto the stage, there was a long period of walking apes, the robust andgracile australopithecines. The 40% complete skeleton of"Lucy," which is over 3 million years old, belongs to thisperiod. So do the Laetoli footprints, the well preservedtracks of three individuals walking across a recent ashfallin Tanzania nearly 4 million years ago. With theemergence of Homo habilus, we have the first evidence ofconscious tool manufacture, about two and a half millionyears ago. The first tools were crude and opportunistic, butthey demonstrate a mental capacity that apes don't possess.Self-conscious thought was still a long way off. But thedeliberate fabrication of tools is the first sign ofhumankind's prodigious capacity for premeditated learningand manipulation of the environment, with all thedestructiveness that has attended it since the IndustrialAge.This first stage of intentional tool manufacture, called Oldowan after Olduvai Gorge in Tanzania, was producedby proto-humans with a brain 50% larger than that of theapes. This was Rosetta Stone American English the dawn of consciousness. Since "ontogenyrecapitulates phylogeny" (the development of an individualparallels the development of a species), a clue to thatconsciousness can be found by observing young children.Clearly, like language, self-awareness is a pre-programmeddevelopmental stage, whereas the inculcation of self-imageand group identification is learned. (Which is to say thatimage and identity production are deeply entrenched habitsof mind.)About a million and half years ago, more complexform of tool manufacture, Acheulean, emerged. Theall-purpose handaxe Homo erectus used for hundreds ofthousands of years required a "mental template" to fashion, thus indicating a new level of intellectualcapacity.During this enormously long time--from about twoand a half million years until about 100,000 yearsago--human consciousness did not fundamentally change. Thereis an astonishing stability and sameness to thearcheological record during this period, which includestools, dwellings, and undoubtedly culture. Therefore it'slogical to suppose that consciousness did not fundamentallychange either. Though Acheulean tools require a few monthsfor a modern person to learn how to make, proto-humanconsciousness was simple and repetitive in its scope.Thebreakthrough came just 100,000 years ago, when a small andendangered proto-human population in Africa developed thecapacity for diverse languages and cultures as we know them,as well as for art, science, and sophisticated technology. These were the first true humans, and mostpaleo-anthropologists agree that they displaced theproto-human species in Africa, Europe, and Asia overthousands of years. ("Hobbits" on a remote Indonesian islandnotwithstanding!) Every culture, race, and nation thatexists on earth today is a direct descendent of that small, pioneering population of Africans who made the transition toa new consciousness.Human consciousness appears to beguided by the principle of "punctuated equilibrium," inwhich periods of relative stability and gradual change areinterrupted by breakthroughs that produce new adaptations inan evolving species. Taking that view, rather than humankindascending in an ever-increasing upward arc of knowledge andconsciousness, we are actually descending in an acceleratingspiral of intensifying crisis, with each turn of history'swheel producing more and more pressure for a breakthrough inconsciousness. The first human consciousness laid thefoundation in expanding brain size and generationallearning. The second human consciousness led to theexplosion of knowledge and technology (as well aspopulation) that we see today. The third human consciousnesswill be based on awareness. It will include our fullestcapacities for expanding scientific knowledge, and honor theindigenous knowledge of the past. But it will be asdifferent from post-modern man's accumulative, self-centeredconsciousness as the Cro Magnon mind was from the mind ofthe Neanderthals. The Rousseauian idea of returning to the"wisdom of ancient traditions" is a pipe dream. A fullyconscious transmutation, involving non-invasive,non-coercive, non-technologically induced changes in thebrain, is required for our survival and growth Rosetta Stone Chinese as a species. This possibly imminent transmutation will mean that humanbeings will no longer live in terms of images andidentities, but in terms of insight and innocence.Asthings are, many 14 year olds are already old, withattitudes and worldviews like jaded 40 year olds. Theemergent human species will not grow old, but willcontinuously renew the brain, mind, and heart with everygeneration, as individuals do who awaken meditation everyday.

The importance of Canetti book
Unconsciously echoing the image of the pestilential archer, Canetti claims that the Rosetta Stone Software exercise of power by a stronger person on another is like firing a dart into their psyche, where it sticks and festers, causing a rancour that cannot be exorcised unless it is discharged by a matching discharge of power onto someone else, someone weaker in the power hierarchy. This is often not immediate, the injuries of power can be stored up for a considerable time. So the exercise of power is never a single act: it unleashes a slow cascade of injuries, where the direction of flight depends on the direction of the power relation at any given time. This certainly mirrors the picture of our organization and its flying arrows of blame. It also sees power and blame as inter-linked. But this is not the whole picture. The importance of Canetti book is that it recognizes power as an emergent social property, arising not merely out of our individual natures or our individual stations. It is socially constructed. This is important, because we are very fond of saying in knowledge management and in other change initiatives that the leadership support and involvement is a critical factor for success. Power is localized, we imply, it can Rosetta Stone Language be exercised by discrete acts of leadership.I have rarely seen discrete acts of power. Most acts of leadership, in my experience, are simulated acts of power they are usually movements of least resistance, impacted by multiple pressures that feel to the actor like the greater power of external parties. The powerful feel as powerless as we do. They are as fickle and as faithless in their decisions as a randy bachelor is with his steady stream of dates. It is far easier to exercise our sense of power in petty, simple acts (like the discharge of an injury), than in subtle, complex, sustained interventions. Power lies largely in the imagination, in habits, and in acquiescence to embedded social structures and rituals. Underneath the hood, power and powerlessness look very similar indeed.Indeed, if we take freedom to act without undue constraint as one expression of power, then the most powerful beings in our troubled organization are actually the pirate archetypes, who do not acquiesce. So I reject Pestilence, the very idea of him. I reject the idea that there are specific points of blame, that there is a right or a wrong in this mess, that the exercise of authoritarian power can resolve it. The injuriousness of the flying arrows of power-blame cannot be denied, however. This gets us somewhere, but it does not get us far, and I fear we Rosetta Stone Spanish (Spain) will need to move on and examine what else the Apocalypse has in store for us in my next post.
Of course the delivery technology will change
The migration to polling, market research and accounting allowed IBM to grow and develop. To Rosetta Stone Software this day I still see IBM operating systems as dominated by a punch card mentality, reading a series of instructions. Mind you those of us who learnt to program using punch cards learned discipline. A reject on the first compile error required an attention to detail and design that a modern generation of programers finds it all to easy to avoid.Despite the radical changes that are coming in technology, somehow or other I think the keyboard will survive, along with the screen. Voice is good but requires you to think to much in advance of speaking. Also you or other people have to hear you speak. I can now put the headphones on in a train, or set the hifi going and write, a very different process from speaking. Of course the delivery technology will change. virtual keyboards on any surface, screens that appear in front of your eyes, all of those things will continue, but an investment in ten fingered typing will still pay off. Mind you, does anyone remember a wonderful device that came out back in the 80s? It was a single hand held device operated with four fingers and thumb that allowed you to type faster than a keyboard, if Rosetta Stone Language you were prepared to invest in training your mind and your fingers. It never took off, but maybe its time for a return? Another argument for typing is that it is so much faster than writing, which means its still preferable to a touch screen with character recognition.OK, so typing survives, what other basic skills should we teach in schools? Well I have a five suggestions (very open to others), few of which are taught in schools which is a pity as they all could be, You need some basic understanding of HTML, editing wikipedia gives you this and software products such as text expander allow you to automate things. But you have to be able to get behind WYSIWYG from time to time and edit more directly. Best way there is to install the WIkipedia software in school and use it for collaborative writing and school projects. Allow those who acquire skills to become admins (much more fun that being a prefect) and guide others. Take on WIkipedia editing Rosetta Stone Spanish (Spain) tasks on local history, get your school entry up todate. Engage, involve and learn. Technical drawing or design, ideally in three dimensions also helps.
Optimized at all costs
John Maloney over on the Prediction Markets Google group picked up on the Rosetta Stone following quote from Doc Searls in Jay Deragon's blog:Think of markets as three overlapping circles: Transaction, Conversation and Relationship. Our financial system is Transaction run amok. Metastasized. Optimized at all costs. Impoverished in the Conversation department, and dismissive of Relationship entirely. We’ve been systematically eliminating Relationship for decades, excluding, devaluing and controlling human interaction wherever possible, to maximize efficiency and mechanization. The quote is good and the blog interesting, the general devaluation of relationship in favour of transaction and the blind support of markets as the solution to all problems represent considerable problems which deserve more attention. However some of the reactions on the list serve were even more interesting and elicited some fine writing from my old friend David Hawthorne. In fact the whole debate (for those of us who are connoisseurs of debate) is a delight, with language being used to great effect. I think David wins, but then I am biased. The first reaction came from Byrne Hobart who took up the cudgels (a cudgel is defined as a blunt instrument lacking any finesse or subtlety and Byrne uses cudgels as well as rapiers) for markets over two posts, one before and the other after he had read the blog in question. I have replicated the entire thread below but this quote gives you a sense of his position:It's nonsensical to lament the predominance of 'transactions' in the market when they're a more efficient means of the ends which 'relationships' and 'conversations' pursued. If you want relationships and conversations, you can talk to your friends; if you want to profitably aggregate the world's information to maximize efficient behavior, markets are the way to go.Now this type of attitude is fairly typical of the information, transaction centric view of the world that has done so much harm to organisations over the last few decades. Ethics, values, ethnicity and any concept of difference, let alone Rosetta Stone Software context is destroyed or decried. Markets are a tool, but they should not be elevated to the status of a religious object. To reduce all things to markets and information based transactions is to limit the intelligence and capability of humans and permits tyranny. For the record, I am not going over the top here.Byrne's two blogs (of which the above quote is a part) are reproduced below. David entered the fray with a wonderful post, well written and fluent statement, Byrne did a line by line rebuttal and David closed the thread.Byrne response to quotation The blog page isn't loading for me, but the quote is still noteworthy. The problem here is that the information generated by 'transaction' is more useful than the information generated by 'conversation', and that the whole point of complex markets is to get around 'relationship' through more efficient shortcuts. There's nothing stopping this guy from befriending his broker and having lunch with his broker twice a week and making one trade a year -- the market can serve that need just fine, so complaining that it serves more rational needs too is just obnoxious. To illustrate the problem with the blogger's logic, ask yourself: if there's a coal mine collapse in China, will market participants get the right information to adjust their thinking if a) a series of parties in interconnected Relationships discuss the tragedy in Conversations and talk about how the shortage of coal may affect certain industries, or if b) the first trader to hear about it buys coal, edging the price up some fraction of a percentage point so other producers sell a little more and some coal users on the margin switch to other fuels? It's nonsensical to lament the predominance of 'transactions' in the market when they're a more efficient means of the ends which 'relationships' and 'conversations' pursued. If you want relationships and conversations, you can talk to your friends; if you Rosetta Stone Hindi want to profitably aggregate the world's information to maximize efficient behavior, markets are the way to go.
We had no deterrence
And we had vulnerability at the strategic level. And I want Rosetta Stone Language to assert that. That's extremely important, I think, to understand where we are. Strategic vulnerability.I mean, that the enemy is capable of producing weapons that will be of strategic destructive force for the United States of America. Not plutonium core weapons but highly enriched uranium, gun-type devices, of the kind we dropped on Hiroshima, not the kind we dropped on Nagasaki, a weapon that does not need to be tested, a weapon that it is very plausible Al Qaeda could fabricate. Or, the virus that moves from person to person and is both easily transmitted and quite deadly: One of the reasons we are concerned about smallpox. This vulnerability at the strategic level, against which we have no defense and no deterrence led the administration to look to pre-emption and preventive war but not just against terrorists because terrorists were linked with rogues. And so, we've come full circle, and now our policy to North Korea, and, I think, in other rogue states who threaten us with weapons of mass destruction threaten us not only because they, themselves, might not be deterrable, but because they may transfer this capability to those which can't be deterred nor defended against.Hence, we have the State of the Union message linking rogues and terrorists. We also have the nuclear policy review, the leak of which describes five countries which we may target with nuclear weapons in a pre-emptive or preventive Language Learning Software mode, adding to the axis of evil Syria and Libya. We have the speech at West Point just recently in which President Bush is quite clear about the imprudence of waiting too long before we deal with a threat coming from a rogue state and a rogue state that might transfer that capability to terrorists and, then, of course, if we were unconvinced by this, we have the absolute authority. The Washington Post on Monday in a headline: Bush Developing Military Policy Of Striking First. So, in phase three of the administration's policy to North Korea, our nonproliferation policy has gone to counterproliferation policy, and it is now the counterterrorist policy, and it is squarely in the crosshairs of our counterterrorist policy. If you're looking at North Korea and beginning a discussion with North Koreans, I think that is one kind of inducement for the North Korean cooperation, not what the Clinton administration had in mind, but an inducement, nevertheless. So, what does this mean? And where does this leave us in our policy to deal with North Korea? First, what is the continuing threat? What are we worried about with North Korea? I think the threat continues to be ballistic missiles. Exports to the Middle East. We publicize Iran and Pakistan. That's not all. That's a major concern, continues be. Tests by the North Koreans, if their moratorium should lapse, they allow it to lapse. I would say that this is not a terrific atmosphere for a North Korean test of a ballistic missile over Japan, given the debate in Japanese Learning Software Japan these days. I think that the nuclear weapons concern continues. The nuclear weapons concern was drawn sharply by Undersecretary Bolton along with a concern about biological weapons. He said, and I quote, North Korea has a dedicated national level effort to acquire a biological weapons capability. He goes on to say that he has named North Korea and Iraq for covert nuclear weapons programs in violation of the NPT. The Undersecretary of State identifies North Korea as having a covert nuclear weapons program. We put the conventional threat aside.
The first- and second-generation pioneers
Not only Japanese Americans lamented Mitsuwa's closure. Yi Li Sung, a 35-year-old Chinese American court interpreter, said she came to shop at least once a month for Japanese-brand coffee and "little girlie things" like eyebrow shapers. She and her family also buy Rosetta Stone Language Japanese when looking for rice cookers, water heaters and other electronics, she said."A lot of my Chinese friends shopped here because of the variety of products and their freshness," Sung said as she looked through a picked-over pile of light bulbs, cat food, bath salts and brownie mix. "The prices are not always the cheapest. But we feel the Japanese stand by their quality."To Uchi, the retired nurse, Mitsuwa's closure marks more than the loss of a supermarket -- after all, she said, Little Tokyo still has two other Japanese markets, Marukai in Weller Court and Nijiya in the Japanese Village Plaza. Rather, it stirred in her a deep sadness to see the munity's abandonment of such a major project of the Issei and Nisei, the first- and second-generation pioneers."The market was built with the sweat and dedication of the Issei and Nisei," she said. "If they were alive to see what has happened today, they would cry."Cho said the Mitsuwa owners chose to leave, despite having four to five years remaining on their lease. A spokesman for Mitsuwa's Torrance headquarters could not be reached for ment, but the Little Tokyo store's manager, Masaaki Yoshimoto, said he was surprised by news of the closure. Yoshimoto said that business had picked up in recent years because of the influx of new residents in the area and that two-thirds of the store's patrons were now non-Japanese.Cho said that his group had initially negotiated with two different Korean market owners to take Mitsuwa's place but that the deals failed to work out.Instead, the group decided to hire someone to run the market for them. The new store, to be called the Language Learning Software Little Tokyo Galleria Market, will primarily feature Korean and Japanese products but also include Chinese, American and even Mexican items, such as marinated carne asada, Cho said. It will reopen Feb. 15 with 90% of its stock on the shelves but hold its grand opening in May.Cho, a business graduate from Cal Poly Pomona and a U.S. Army veteran, said his group hoped to bring new business to the area with the revamped market and plans for what he billed as the largest Korean-style spa outside New York. The 50,000-square-foot space on the mall's third floor would offer body scrubs, massages, saunas, exercise equipment, resting stations, a nail and hair salon and several eateries, including a coffee shop and ice cream parlor. Once launched in 18 to 24 months, he said, the spa would be open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. and possibly 24 hours a day on weekends, drawing potentially 1,000 people to Little Tokyo daily. But Cho said his group is also mindful of the munity's sensitivities about keeping the mall's Japanese flavor. Most of the Japanese tenants, he said, seem ready to stay. And the group's architectural plans for a face-lift to the mall, an aging structure often likened to a fortress, feature Japanese motifs such as cherry blossoms, exterior panels patterned after shoji screens and a modern Zen garden."We're going to try our hardest to keep this a Japanese-theme mall, with an international flair, because this is Little Tokyo," Cho said.To Japanese Americans such as Bill Watanabe, executive director of the Little Tokyo Service Center, the changes are simply a sign of the times."I think Little Tokyo will bee part Korean and that's a fact, because there are just more of them," Watanabe said.He added: "Shoganai" -- it Rosetta Stone Arabic can't be helped.teresa.watanabelatimes.
Natural Language Speech Recognition
Technology has made our life very simple and comfortable. It has reduced the amount Rosetta Stone of effort we humans have to put in, to perform a task. Gifts of technology have reduced our dependence on human resources. Natural Language Speech Recognition is one such gift of technology. It converts your computer into a virtual human being, who can speak just like any person. It is software which makes your computer competent enough to understand any language. It lets your computer interact through voice and chat dialogues. This technology is very useful for businesses which have a lot of interaction with customers. They have to spend a large amount of money in hiring and training agents to handle their customers. They also have to incur a lot of expenses for the salaries of agents, to provide round the clock customer support. Natural Language can be an effective cost saving measure for such firms. A company can reduce the number of its customer support representatives by availing the services of this software. It can handle the customers in an efficient manner. It can very well understand their requests and instructions and Rosetta Stone Software provide appropriate responses. This software is capable to respond to the customer requests in a fraction of a second. So it is very useful for us. It is extremely intelligent software that can understand all phrases and grammatical structures used by customers. It is even proficient enough to memorize any interaction it has with the customers. This enables it to interact with the customers based on their past records. It delights the customers by providing high quality customer service. This software can also be used to free the customers from the robotic IVRs. It is often very frustrating and irritating for customers to deal with monotonous IVRs. This software can interact with customers in a natural way. It can even filter out unwanted calls. Natural Language is based on an intelligent algorithm that can understand and process commands with lightening fast speed. It is not at all robotic. It can understand the voice and chat commands given by the customers. It can speak naturally just like any normal human being. Natural Rosetta Stone German language Speech Recognition is a unique software. It has ought a revolution in the field of Speech Recognition Engines. It is a great innovation that has redefined the customer service experience provided by many companies. It can contribute a lot in the success of every organisation.
The Spanish language in the world today
Spanish language even when the world's major languages, it is not known in Rosetta Stone V3 various regions of the world, this is because the areas in which the language is spoken, with Spain the most important country in which the language is spoken Spanish. Although Hispanic-speaking countries in Latin America, have been emerging on the world map as in developing countries and important to today's world. In the world there are two languages that are above the other, or are called the most important in the world right now, as are English and Mandarin, the latter, which many say could be the language of the future, so then it is the language that is more market and more people want to learn. And then the English is the language taught worldwide, so after the native language, should be the most spoken in the world. But the Spanish language this being a very good option to be learned, for several reasons, including cultural and historical wealth of the countries in which this language is spoken. They are therefore more and more people from countries like U.S., France, England and other more, who are interested in learning about the countries of Latin America and its rich history and culture. For this reason it has been a growing interest in learning the Spanish language throughout the world and so, the options are diverse, from the custom classes with tutors face to face to virtual Rosetta Stone Japanese lessons via internet. But one of the most innovative and in turn more effective in learning the Spanish language is concerned, is to take lessons with tutors via the Internet Native American countries, which makes most teaching and language learning more effective. This mechanic gives greater flexibility to both tutor and student, and that lessons can be taken any time of day and from anywhere, needing only an internet connection, and a computer. This method has been chosen as the best option for many college students in America, which take this option because of the flexibility in the time to take Spanish lessons. As well, shows like this on hand for any person to learn another language, in this case, the Castilian or Spanish, because the lessons are affordable for anyone, and easy to take lessons from anywhere world. This may be the reason why we are seeing more frequently, that travelers who come to Latin American countries speaking, require fewer translators or people to serve as a guide in his tour of the various countries of the region, which makes these countries increasingly are most visited. So the conditions are right then that more and more we expand our linguistic horizons, it's just a matter of drawing a member of our part time to learn the language that is more to our liking, or we need most in our professional growth. For now, Spanish is the language that shows higher learning facilities around the World, so then maybe in the future becomes a language as important as English in the world today. And as we're noticing in the United States where Spanish is already almost a second language.lt;span class"longtext" id"u.-5"gt;lt;font color"000000"gt;lt;fontgt;lt;span Rosetta Stone Spanish Spain style"background-color: rgb(230, 236, 249);"gt;The Spanish language is going strong in cities around the world, it is very easy to learn and there are several options, one Spanish lessons online, if you want to learn more about spanish tutoring online.

This despite
When learning a language mistakes are as unavoidable as is falling down to a child who is learning to walk. If that child or his parents were afraid of their child falling down that child would never learn to walk; same thing with languages. I always tell myRosetta Stone Outlet students that if they can not avoid mistakes at least they should try to learn from them. One of the reasons people are afraid or perhaps embarrassed about mistakes is what other people might think. This if one logically thinks about should not represent a problem as those who are mindful will understand that the person who is speaking is not a native speaker of that language and will not only understand if that person makes some mistakes but will not think less of that person for doing so. Using good grammar is not the most important thing! Unless we are teachers of that language or writers in that language; then grammar is not the most important thing if we just want other people to understand what we are saying. Grammar only becomes an issue when we are misunderstood or not all. For instance if I heard someone say had bought a book, yesterday?I would understand that this person bought a book yesterday. This despite the fact that he or she used ast perfect?in a situation when he or she should have used ast simple? So my advise to those who are speaking a foreign language is to not worry about what is grammaticallyRosetta Stone V3 correct and just to speak.Practice as much as possible! To learn a language well we need to have at least 20 hours of contact a week with the language. By this I mean taking lessons but they are not enough. For instance if a person took piano lessons this would not be enough to learn the piano as that person would have to have a piano he or she could practice on at home otherwise lessons would not be so beneficial. Having said this what I recommend to those who do not live in a country where the language they want to learn is spoken is to look for as much contact with the language in question as possible. May be in the form of watching television in that language, making friends with people who speak that language or just having a romantic acquaintance that would also contribute to one linguistic needs apart from all the rest. The four parts to languages are the following: the spoken one, the read one, the written one and listening. To practice the last one all we need is to watch films in that language maybe even with subtitles. With regard to reading this we should practice for the reason that it is the best way for us to expand our vocabulary in the language as we have time to look up the words we do not understand. Writing should be improved by reading because after seeing the words many times this should teach us how to spell them. The speaking perhaps is the hardest to practice as it is most advisable to not do this alone as this would force one to answer oneself. In all my years as a language teacher and learner of languages it has been my experience that has taught me that when speaking or learning a language as in life all we can do is our best and hope for just that so with this in mind I leave those who should read this with the following thought. It is better to speak a language badly then not at all becauseRosetta Stone Spain Spanish if we really think about it how many people speak a language with grammatical perfection even their own let alone a second or a foreign one.

The article on the NewsRoom websitetoday about the opponents of the proposed Ngawha prisonaccusing the Department of Corrections of trying to ruinthem
Nandor Tanczos: With reference to hisearlier answer, and to the article on the NewsRoom websitetoday about the opponents of the proposed Ngawha prisonaccusing the Department of Corrections of trying to ruinthem, is the Minister telling the House that thedepartment's policy is to spend money Rosetta Stone V3 to get support, but,if it cannot get it, to bankrupt opponents? Hon. MARKGOSCHE: My understanding is that there is a considerableamount of money required for the consultation process forall the prisons that are currently being planned to bebuilt. If the money is not spent, it will hold up theprojects, because local councils require adequateconsultation under law. Rt Hon. Winston Peters: Howdoes the Minister explain to the country the apparentcontradiction that it is wise to return prisoners back tothe whx17D,nau and local circumstances from whence theyoriginally came, when that local circumstance was the originof their offence in the first place? Hon. MARK GOSCHE:We are not proposing that they go back to the scene of thecrime, we are talking about having adequate contact with thewhx17D,nau and the family as part of the rehabilitation process.I do not think it is possible for people in Auckland toeasily get to Invercargill to be involved in thatprocess.Question No. 11 to Minister John Carter: Iraise a point of order, Mr Speaker. I draw to your attentionan incident that occurred at the beginning of last term, when Mr Heatley--who was a relatively new member ofParliament at that stage--sought a question, and was slow tohis feet, and you therefore ruled that he had missed hisquestion. We were not able to go back to that question. Idistinctly remember that. You ruled that he had not asked itquickly enough. In this particular instance, we have asituation where the member did not even seek the call. I waslooking, and it was obvious. Given that we have a situationwhere a question was not permitted, it should not be allowedin this instance either. Mr SPEAKER: I do not need anyassistance on this. I refer members to Speaker's ruling123/1: ``If when a question is called the member in whosename it stands elects not to ask it, the member cannot becompelled to do so, and unless leave is sought and given topostpone it the question would disappear from the OrderPaper.'' That is exactly right. The member Rosetta Stone Spanish Latin knows theSpeaker's rulings of Mr Speaker Jack and certainly of MrSpeaker Kerry Burke, as he was in the House when Kerry Burkewas Speaker. All that I can do is seek the leave of theHouse for the question to be asked, if anyone objects, itwill not be asked. Leave is sought. Does anyone object? There is no objection.Ecosystems--Islands 11. DAVIDCUNLIFFE (NZ Labour--New Lynn) to the Minister ofConservation: Have there been any significant recentdevelopments in the protection of island ecosystems? Hon. CHRIS CARTER (Minister of Conservation): I am delightedto report that the Department of Conservation has recentlycompleted an aerial poison drop on Raoul Island island, aimed at eradicating rats and feral cats, which havedecimated the island's native wildlife. The operation wentsmoothly, and the indications are that it will besuccessful. This Government's major funding increases forconservation made that internationally significant advancein threatened species conservation possible. DavidCunliffe: What contribution have volunteers made toconservation initiatives on Raoul Island? Hon. CHRISCARTER: Volunteers operating under the highly successfulconservation volunteers programme have been working closelywith departmental weed control experts on a 10-yearprogramme to eliminate aggressive, invasive weeds from RaoulIsland. Earlier this year, a team of 12 volunteers spent 12weeks on the island working on weed programmes. Thedepartment is very grateful for their help. ShaneArdern: What guarantees can the Minister give that theisland's ecosystems will be protected, given theGovernment's appalling record on biosecurity control, andits failure to manage incursions such as the varroa bee miteand the painted apple moth? Hon. CHRIS CARTER: TheDepartment of Conservation has an enviable and proud recordof eliminating pests on offshore islands. IanEwen-Street: What action has, and will be, taken in responseto the recent finding of suspected rat faeces on KapitiIsland? Hon. CHRIS CARTER: As soon as there was areport of rat droppings, the Department of Conservationimplemented an emergency response with poison bait stationsbeing placed around the area. It is suspected that if thedroppings found on the island by a member of the public wereindeed rat droppings, they came from the pre-eradicationperiod. A permanent bait station has been located close tothe site. I am pleased to report that the bait has not beendisturbed. Hon. Richard Prebble: I raise a point oforder, Mr Speaker. Since leave has been given, I feel thatwe should be able to hear the answer. I could not hear aword of what the Minister said. I Rosetta Stone Spain Spanish am interested to know theanswer to the question asked. I wonder whether the Ministercould give that answer again. I could not hear what he wassaying. I am not sitting very far from him. Mr SPEAKER:The member makes a very valid point. There was a little bitof interjection, some of it of levity. I wonder whether theMinister could summarise the answer in one sentence. Hon. CHRIS CARTER: I would be pleased to. A full emergencyresponse is in place, but as yet, no evidence of live ratshas been found. (Uncorrected transcript - subject tocorrection and further editing) End of Questions forOral Answer.

Hemodernized the State Department's technology andtransformed dozens of our facilities abroad
Technology iscollapsing the distance that once clearly separated righthere from over there. And the greatest threats now emergemore within states than between them. The fundamentalcharacter of regimes now matters more than the internationaldistribution Rosetta Stone V3 of power. In this world it is impossible todraw neat, clear lines between our security interests, ourdevelopment efforts and our democratic ideals. Americandiplomacy must integrate and advance all of these goals together. So, I would define the objective oftransformational diplomacy this way: to work with our manypartners around the world, to build and sustain democratic, well-governed states that will respond to the needs of theirpeople and conduct themselves responsibly in theinternational system. Let me be clear, transformationaldiplomacy is rooted in partnership, not in paternalism. In doing things with people, not for them, we seek to useAmerica's diplomatic power to help foreign citizens bettertheir own lives and to build their own nations and totransform their own futures. In extraordinary times likethose of today, when the very terrain of history is shifting beneath our feet, we must transform old diplomaticinstitutions to serve new diplomatic purposes. This kindof challenge is sweeping and difficult but it is notunprecedented, America has done this kind of work before. Inthe aftermath of World War II, as the Cold War hardenedinto place, we turned our diplomatic focus to Europe andparts of Asia. We hired new people. We taught them newlanguages, we gave them new training. We partnered with old adversaries in Germany and Japan and helped them to rebuildtheir countries. Our diplomacy was instrumental intransforming devastated countries into thriving democraticallies, allies who joined with us for decades in the struggle to defend freedom from communism. With the endof the Cold War, America again rose to new challenges. Weopened 14 new embassies in the countries of Central andEastern Europe and we repositioned over 100 of ourdiplomats to staff them. Our efforts helped newly liberated peoples to transform the character of theircountries and now many of them, too, have become partnersin liberty and freedom, members of NATO, members of theEuropean Union, something unthought of just a few years ago.And during the last decade, we finally realized a historicdream of the 20th Rosetta Stone Hindi century therefore, a vision of a Europewhole and free and at peace. In the past five years, itwas my friend and predecessor Colin Powell who led the menand women of American diplomacy into the 21st century. Mostimportantly, Secretary Powell invested in our people. Hecreated over 2,000 new positions and hired thousands ofnew employees and trained them all to be diplomaticleaders of tomorrow. Now, today, to advancetransformational diplomacy all around the world, we in theState Department must again answer a new calling of ourtime. We must begin to lay the diplomatic foundations tosecure a future of freedom for all people. Like the greatchanges of the past, the new efforts we undertake today willnot be completed quickly. Transforming our diplomacy andtransforming the State Department is the work of ageneration, but it is urgent work that must begin. Toadvance transformational diplomacy, we are and we mustchange our diplomatic posture. In the 21st century, emerging nations like India and China and Brazil and Egyptand Indonesia and South Africa are increasingly shaping thecourse of history. At the same time, the new front linesof our diplomacy are appearing more clearly, intransitional countries of Africa and of Latin America and ofthe Middle East. Our current global posture does not reallyreflect that fact. For instance, we have nearly the samenumber of State Department personnel in Germany, a countryof 82 million people that we have in India, a country of onebillion people. It is clear today that America must begin toreposition our diplomatic forces around the world, so overthe next few years the United States will begin to shiftseveral hundred of our diplomatic positions to new critical posts for the 21st century. We will begin this yearwith a down payment of moving 100 positions from Europeand, yes, from here in Washington, D.C., to countries likeChina and India and Nigeria and Lebanon, where additionalstaffing will make an essential difference. We aremaking these changes by shifting existing resources to meetour new priorities, but we are also eager to work moreclosely with Congress to enhance our global strategy withnew resources and new positions. We will also put newemphasis on our regional and transnational strategies. In the 21st century, geographic regions are growing ever moreintegrated economically, politically and culturally. Thiscreates new opportunities but it also presents newchallenges, especially from transnational threats like terrorism and weapons proliferation and drug smuggling andtrafficking in persons and disease. Building Rosetta Stone Korean regionalpartnerships is one foundation today of our counterterrorismstrategy. We are empowering countries that have the will tofight terror but need help with the means. And we arejoining with key regional countries like Indonesia andNigeria and Morocco and Pakistan, working together not onlyto take the fight to the enemy but also to combat theideology of hatred that uses terror as a weapon.

htmAsia in Australian schools The campaign inAustralia to increase the teaching of Asian studies inschools is no longer dependent on the need to explain whythe Asian region is so important, according to a recentRadio New Zealand documentary.RNZ education correspondentGael Woods researched the half hour Insight documentaryduring an Asia New Zealand Foundation-funded trip toAustralia in July this year. Her interviews indicated thatmost Rosetta Stone teachers and education leaders, and the public ingeneral, now accept the need to give priority to Asianstudies. This sea change in opinion is reflected by ajoint federal and state government initiative to sign off ona national policy statement entitled Engaging YoungAustralians with Asia earlier this year.Kathe Kirby, theexecutive director Australias Asia Education Foundation, told RNZ that her organisation was perceived as a fringelobby group in 1993 but Australians had since come a longway in recognising the importance of becoming better engagedwith the region. It was clear the business communityhad no question about it. Politically, with what hadtranspired in our own region in the last five years, politicians werent going to argue with it. Parentswerent going to argue with it and it was something thatwe needed then to frame in a way that was going to bringalong the education community, Ms Kirby said.In hervisits to several schools in South Australia and Victoria,Gael Woods was able to see how teachers were incorporatingAsian language, perspectives and cultural ideas in everydayteaching. But many educators did warn of the need toensure that teachers received the proper support andtraining for it to have a meaningful effect on students thatextended beyond the teaching offood andfestivals. For example a recent nationwide surveyundertaken by the Australian Secondary PrincipalsAssociation painted a disturbing picture with languageteaching in Australian schools probably at an all-timelow.The associations president, Andrew Blair, said 28percent of schools were shedding languages as part of theircurriculum because they could not guarantee that qualifiedstaff would continue to be available. Its reallyimportant that if you are going to embrace Asia that you doit holistically and you provide language programmes as muchas cultural immersion programmes, he told RNZ.CarilloGartner, a long serving patron of Asialink which is the AsiaNew Zealand Foundations Australian equivalent, said hewas alarmed by the Rosetta Stone Hindi V3 dropping number of high school anduniversity students learning Asian languages. He saidfederal government funding on language programmes had gonebackwards over the past ten years but the new nationalpolicy represented a fresh start. But Meg Gurry, a formerlecturer in Asian relations and a member of the AustralianAsian Studies Association, said studies of Asia and Asianlanguages needed a really bold government initiative, suchas a national languages institute. In five to ten weare going to have a very big crisis because even if therewas a new generation of young people that came through saidwe all want to learn about Asian countries and learn Asianlanguages, there will be fewer and fewer people to teachthem. Another concern expressed was how the policystatement could be Rosetta Stone Portuguese accommodated within an already crowdedcurriculum. But Sydney-based New Zealander Wayne Stevensonsaid the prosperity of future generations of Australians andNew Zealanders lay in the Asian region.

His diplomatic reports on everyday life invarious parts of Russia were so informative as to arousesuspicion of their sources, and Rosetta Stone software Costello, an unconventionaland non-aligned leftist, knew he was the subject ofsurveillance by the Russian, British and eventually USauthorities. Yet he made no effort to tone down either hiscriticism of Soviet affairs or his admiration for theirpeople. He admitted cheerfully that, 'under the influence ofwine... I don't often in public tell an American FirstSecretary that I think the President of his country is abum. I have done so, nevertheless. And am thereby revealedas an indifferent diplomat.' Heavy-drinking and indifferentperhaps, but also refreshingly frank and even-handed. In1947, well before it was known to the US, Costello informedhis government that Russia possessed the atomic bomb. Hissuperior, Alister McIntosh, said, 'you'd have thought he hadinside information. He hadn't, he'd worked it out usingmethods built up from his Intelligence training.' It is easyto see how accusations of espionage steadily mounted aroundCostello, but not why he was later believed to be a willingtool of the Soviet system. With the closure of NewZealand's Moscow legation in 1950, Costello, described byMcIntosh as 'the most brilliant diplomatic officer we have,'was sent to the brand-new Paris legation, which in McNeish'sdescription appears as a Rosetta Stone Chinese glittering and intemperate enclaveamid postwar austerity. This was also a period of vindictiveanti-Communist persecution and Costello faced growingpressure to resign, both from his government, led by theobtuse and reactionary Sid Holland, and from Britishsecurity. He was not unwilling to leave the cushioned lifeof a Paris diplomat, and made inquiries about returning toacademia. However he was still working at the legation whenthe incident occurred which would ultimately destroy hisreputation. New Zealand passports were issued to a PeterKroger, allegedly of Gisborne, and his wife, who used themto enter Britain and spy on its nuclear submarine base. Sixyears later they were exposed as the American-born Morrisand Lona Cohen, high-level KGB agents who had alreadysucceeded in smuggling plans for the US atomic bomb toMoscow. It was a drastic breach of the legation'ssecurity, but an entirely unwitting one by staff deceived bythe couple's immaculately forged identity papers.Significantly, as McNeish here establishes through recentlydeclassified documents, Costello played no part in thepassport affair. Years later, and following several officialinvestigations, the head of New Zealand's SIS would confirmthis. Even so, a succession of writers on the crepuscularworld of espionage have concluded, on the basis ofCostello's openly avowed leftwing views and on entirelyunsupported allegations, that he was somehow behind thepassport affair. This charge was first made by the Britishjournalist Chapman Pincher, described by historian EPThompson as 'a kind of official urinal' into which 'highofficials of MI5 and MI6... and others, stand patientlyleaking in the public interest'. The New Zealand-bornbarrister and globetrotting radical John Platts-Mills metand was impressed by Costello during his early days inMoscow. Knowledgeable in the law of defamation, Platts-Millssays he finds Pincher's spying claim 'impossible tobelieve... but you can say anything about a person when he'sdead.' This comment is telling since John Platts-Mills washimself an outspoken leftist gadfly whose unabashedpolitical views also brought him various official sanctions, both open and covert. Pincher's Rosetta Stone French allegations have since beenrepeated so often that they have acquired an aura ofauthenticity, and reappeared recently in New Zealand writerGraeme Hunt's facile and superficial study, Spies andRevolutionaries. Hunt piles guilt by association, insinuation and rank, unsupported assertion on top ofCostello's undoubtedly colourful professional record tolabel him a calculating traitor directly responsible forissuing the Kroger passports.
